Why did you choose a destination wedding??We chose a destination wedding to avoid the hassle of organising a large reception, and we also wanted a smaller, more private and picturesque wedding location.

Why the Edgewater Resort in Rarotonga?It was affordable, and a very beautiful location. The people there were lovely.

How did your friends and family react?At first the family members who came were not impressed that we were going outside of New Zealand but once there they were happy for us and had a great time themselves.

How long did it take to plan??Only about a week to sort out what we wanted.

How did your venue help with your planning?They were great. Our wedding planner, Heather, was amazing; she organised everything for us, and we only had to worry about turning up to the wedding on time!

How many guests and where did they stay?Nine guests, and most stayed at the Edgewater Resort and two stayed at a backpackers.

Anything you would have done differently?No, we don't regret anything and wouldn't change a thing except stay longer!

Did you have any pre-ceremony entertainment or activities?Just a bit of a hen's night the day before the ceremony.

Describe your reception...Dinner at the Edgewater Resort Restaurant. A lovely private dinner set up especially for our group, and the service was great.

Your wedding highlight?The whole thing - it was a wedding in paradise! It made for an awesome day and beautiful photography.

Any advice for couples planning a similar wedding?Do it! It is an amazing experience and you won't regret it!
