More on Conrad Bali - Alexander Dadak and Mayte Beirle
Why did you choose a destination wedding?
We really wanted a location that would make the event a memorable occasion, not only for us but also for our guests. We hoped that a destination wedding would give our guests an opportunity to explore something new.
Why Conrad Bali?
Bali has been a favourite holiday destination of ours for many years, therefore it was an easy decision. As Bali has so many beautiful and interesting things to see and do, we knew that it would be an ideal setting for our wedding.
How did your friends and family react?
They were thrilled as quite a number had never been. The majority of our guests took extra days to enjoy the resort and explore the many attractions that Bali has to offer.
How long did it take to plan?
It took about six months to plan.
How did your venue help with your planning?
The Conrad Bali was fantastic. They have a very experienced and dedicated wedding team who take care of everything from start to finish. Not only did they really listen to what we wanted, but they also came up with creative and fun ideas that we would never have thought of ourselves.
How many guests and where did they stay?
We had 55 guests in total and the majority stayed at the Conrad Bali.
Anything you would have done differently?
Make sure to enjoy the food! We were so swept up in the excitement of the evening that we forgot to try all the different specialties that were on the menu.
Did you have any pre-ceremony entertainment or activities?
We did not have any scheduled activities as we decided to just let our guests enjoy the day in Bali to do as they pleased.
Describe your reception ...
The evening reception was located outdoors on the lawn next to the stunning Infinity Chapel, which is right next to the beach. We had both a traditional and contemporary Balinese dance performance during the dinner followed by an excellent local band. The menu was a seafood barbeque focusing on a variety of Balinese specialties and all the fun concluded with an impressive fireworks display that really exceeded our expectations.
Your wedding highlight?
Firstly, the Infinity Chapel at Conrad Bali was an amazing venue for the ceremony and secondly the fireworks were a spectacular end to the evening.
Any advice for couples planning a similar wedding?
Our advice would be to chose a destination for your wedding that is meaningful to you both, while also being a draw card for your guests.
