Climate : Tropical climate, with average temperatures in summer of between 24C and 33C and between 14C to 26C in winter. Being a wet tropic climate, there are only two seasons, 'the green' and 'the dry'. The green season stretches from the first of the monsoon rains, usually in November, and ends in May.

Tropical North Queensland is a vast region encompassing reefs and islands, beaches and coastal wetlands, mountains, tablelands and Gulf Savannah grassland. Cairns boasts an international airport, and the best way of reaching the area is to fly directly here. Once in Cairns your choices of where to go and stay are virtually limitless. Travel north from Cairns to reach the beaches such as Palm Cove, Trinity , Kewarra and Ellis. Here palm trees hang lazily over the pristine sandy beaches. Further north still and you reach the resort town of Port Douglas - and head north from here to reach the spectacular Mossman Gorge, World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.
