Where and when should we go for our first African Wildlife Safari?

We're interested in going on a wildlife safari with a few comforts. Which countries should we look at and what time of the year would be best?
Question from reader, Jenny of Sunshine Coast, QLD

If it’s your first safari to Africa and you want to see prolifi c wildlife I would highly recommend a safari in Kenya. To see the migration of millions of zebra and wildebeest it’s best to visit the Masai Mara in Kenya from June to November. However if you can’t travel during the migration you will see an abundance of wildlife with superb game viewing at any time.
If you want to discover more of Africa I suggest a visit to Botswana, especially the Okavango Delta, Savute and Moremi regions where you are guaranteed excellent wildlife experiences and due to the nature of accommodation options the tented camps and lodges cater for small numbers of guests, offering a more intimate experience – perfect for couples and honeymooners!
