What is the best rail pass & route from Holland to Venice?

Could you please advise which is the best rail pass to get and which route we would travel. We want to leave Holland on 27th August and be in Venice on 1st September. Also if we need to make bookings for the trains. There will be 3 of us travelling.

Hi Lesley, You should look at the utilising a Eurail Select Saver pass. With this pass you can select 3-5 adjoining countries through which to travel and up to 15 travel days in a 2 month period. Travelling from Holland to Venice you could select a number of routes from the following; Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria before reaching Italy. An added bonus is that Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg are counted as 1 country, giving you much more flexibility in your choices, while the saver pass option gives groups of 2-5 a discount if they travel together on all sectors.
