Why did you opt for a destination wedding? I always dreamed of a small, intimate wedding and when Luke and I got engaged he agreed that this was a good idea. The Conrad in Bali offered the perfect location for our intimate occasion without losing any of the glory of having a large wedding. It also helped ensure we got a honeymoon, which a lot of couples seem to forego these days.
How did your friends and family react? Our family and friends were excited about attending a wedding in an exotic location like Bali and it was a great excuse for them to take a holiday at the same time. Most guests had travelled to Bali before so they were happy to spend the time socialising, partying, shopping and simply taking in the beauty and culture of Bali and of course sharing our special day.
Why did you choose to marry at Conrad Bali? My parents had been to Bali many times and over the years, and constantly sang the praises of Conrad Bali. I first saw Infinity the Wedding Chapel in Holidays for Couples magazine. It was a breathtaking, magnificent glass chapel floating in crystal clear water with a huge marble walkway overlooking the Indian Ocean. Oozing sophistication and elegance I made up my mind instantly that one day I would marry there and Luke was easily convinced.
How long did it take to plan? It took us six months to plan the wedding, however the majority of plans were made in a matter of weeks thanks to the helpful wedding team at Conrad. This eased up my time to plan a larger engagement party in Perth at the end of March which took a lot more effort than our wedding day.
How did your venue help with your planning? Once we made contact with Conrad, and they were aware of our needs they allocated a wedding planner, Alicia Budihardja. Alicia made us feel as though we were the only couple getting married at the Conrad that year. She provided us with every option available and accommodated all of our preferences. Alicia arranged everything from photographers, to hair appointments, the wedding ceremony, reception music requests and much more.
How many guests and where did they stay? We had 17 guests attend our wedding and all stayed at the Conrad. Everyone agreed it was a wonderful experience and holiday.
Anything you would have done differently? No, everything was perfect.
