Don Det and Don Khone are two very laidback islands, without any cars, just on the border of Cambodia. The islands played an important role by linking Laos to Cambodia and Southern Vietnam during French rule. To cross the falls they built a railway and a bridge which give a unique atmosphere to the place. After a stroll through the palm-fringed villages, continue to the southernmost part of Laos and the imposing Khone Papheng waterfalls, close to the Cambodian border. In the afternoon return to Pakse and stop at the exotic evening market.
