More on Fletcher Lodge

Fletcher Lodge is a stunning example of Dunedin’s unique architecture. Built by one of New Zealand’s leading industrialists, Sir James Fletcher, in 1923, to serve as his private residence while overseeing the construction of the New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition. Set in secluded gardens, it features impressive detailing such as a Wedgwood ceiling and frieze in the music room, an oak panelled entrance hall and carved staircase leading to four of the six bedrooms. Leadlight windows with stained glass inserts and ornate plaster ceilings are in almost every room.

All six guest rooms are richly furnished with period furniture and the tiled bathrooms contain luxurious touches like under floor heating, sumptuous bedding and mattresses that beg you to sleep on them. Sky TV and dial out telephones are standard.
Guests are offered complementary port in the panelled oak lounge whilst tea and coffee are on tap. Free access to the Internet and off street parking add to the services offered. Other amenities include access to a private gym and therapeutic masseur, help with the enormous spectrum of Dunedin’s attractions and the Otago Peninsula’s wild life tours is always available from your Hosts -
Ewa and Keith.
