Fifty years ago, The Tongsai Bay was a pristine haven providing a pure escape back into nature for the few intrepid backpackers who could find her.

It was this untouched beauty which so enchanted The Tongsai Bay’s creator and proprietor, the late Akorn Hootrakul. He said at the time that seeing her from the deck of his boat was "love at first sight". Akorn’s dream was both organic and unique. He would build a hotel where the reconnection with nature would be the philosophy. As a result, many of the most secluded villas are now hidden almost entirely by foliage, giving the deluxe hotel a casual tropical atmosphere that is befitting to such a picture perfect setting.

Located on the north-eastern coast of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, The Tongsai Bay Cottages and Hotel are set in 25 acres of beautiful gardens and steep forested hills overlooking one of the most beautiful bays on the island. BEACHFRONT SUITES
Located next to the swimming pool and the beach, the 3 storey Beachfront building contains 24 Beachfront Suites. Each offers 72 – 86 sq.m. of total area, almost half of which is the open-air terrace with sea view. There is a bathtub on the terrace for bathing alfresco. All have seaview.

COTTAGE SUITES
The 41 Cottage Suites are scattered around on a slope leading down to the beach. Each Cottage Suite differs in size (ranging from 68 – 78 sq.m.), shape and the view of the sea. Most are split level while all have bathtub on the terrace with seaview.

TONGSAI GRAND VILLA
Undergone the major refurbishment in the late 2005, each villa now has a total area of 170 sq. m. with an open-area of 116 sq. m. on the terrace and the back of each villa and 54 sq. m. of air-conditioned bedroom area. Tongsai Grand Villa serves as the more glamourous accommodation type at Tongsai. Its massive terrace features a bathtub, a gazebo with mosquito net attached, a small-pantry bar, a dining table and sun loungers.

TONGSAI POOL VILLA
With an area of 185 sq. m., they offer the same facilities as Tongsai Grand Villas except the additional private plunge pool (3x5 metres).
