Where should we honeymoon in Queensland?
Thanks for your enquiry re your honeymoon. Lady Musgrave and Lady Eliot Islands at the southern end of the reef do not have stingers but do have lovely coral.
Lady Elliot Island is the most southerly island within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It lies 85 kilometres north-east of Bundaberg and is an unspoilt coral cay which is actually part of the reef. The diving there is incredible with 10 dive sites including Lighthouse Bommie, Coral Gardens, Moiri and Shark Pool. The visibility is excellent and ranges from 25 to 50 metres. Explore the many shipwrecks in the waters off the Island.
I don't believe that you can go jet skiing here but not sure on that but it does seem to be a very quiet place for nature lovers. Of course at the Gold Coast you can do all of those active things you want to do and much, much more!
One thing to keep in mind is that you can wear a stinger suit when snorkelling at Hamilton - they are like wearing body panty hose and I believe they're quite comfortable.
To experience something totally unique that only a few people in the world have the opportunity to try, why not stay overnight on the Great Barrier Reef with Fantasea’s ultimate Great Barrier Reef offering - Reefsleep. It includes two days and one night at Reefworld including Fantasea transfer.
I hope this helps you!!
