Train Travel - Nice to Milan & Milan to Venice
Can I book first class train seats direct from Nice to Milan and then Milan to Venice?
Question from reader, L Jameson of Brisbane, QLD
The Nice to Milan route no longer offers direct services. Last year a change of trains at the border (VENTIMIGLIA) was introduced to this route and this year passengers have also had to change train in Monaco. With the 2 changes the journey takes approx. 5 ½ hours, the French portion of the journey is on regional trains, some of which offer 2nd class only. Both 1st and 2nd class are offered on the Italian portion. Milan and Venice are linked by 1-2 direct, high speed service per hour and you can certainly travel in 1st class on these services.
