How do I beat jet-lag?

Do you have any suggestions ways to beat or minimise jet-lag?
Question from reader, Courtney of Sydney, NSW

"I'd recommend lots of water before and after flying and maybe some electrolyte powder to help your body absorb the fluid. Fresh aire and a nature walk really help give you a natural lift and give you back the negative ions your body lacks while being in such a low humidity environment.
You can't go past the use of essential oils, in the form of a face spray to simply refresh or inhale. Refreshing and awakening oils include peppermint, lemon myrtle and orange. Drinking uplifting loose leaf herbal teas to perk you up, taking a good B group vitamin and some cat naps always help too!"
