What vaccinations do we need for Bali?

My partner & I are planning to travel to Bali for two weeks & are unsure what vaccinations we will need prior to leaving.
Question from reader, Katrina of Perth, WA

Indonesia is a developing nation and as such does not have the same level of sanitation and health care standards which we come to expect in Australia. It is recommended for all people traveling to Indonesia to receive the Hepatitis A & Hepatitis B vaccine, & for people over 50 to receive a flu vaccination. Travelers planning an extended visit should also receive the Typhoid vaccine, the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine & the Rabies Vaccine. Check with your doctor prior to departure to ensure you receive all of the relevant vaccinations.
