Things to take on your short break getaway.
Sometimes a short break requires as much packing as a week-long jaunt and it’s often the most obvious things which get left on the kitchen bench, so check our list before you jump in the car.- Name and contact numbers for your accommodation
- Print out of booking confirmation
- Map and directions or GPS
- Vehicle documentation eg. RACQ card, licence, insurance details
- Cash and credit card for emergencies
- Camera and battery charger
- Mobile phone and charger (if absolutely necessary)
- Prescription or other medication
- First Aid kit
- Books/magazines
- Socks, underwear and flip flops
- A well-stocked toiletry bag including toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and shaving supplies
- Snacks and bottled water for the car
- Sunglasses, sunscreen and hats
- CDs or iPod for the car
- Spare tyre
- Picnic blanket, fold-up chairs, esky
- Bathers, towels and bags for wet items
- Don’t be afraid to throw in some personal items too such as a mixed CD of favourite songs, massage oil, scented candles and a romantic movie or two.
